Summary, etc.	Le présent ouvrage s'adresse aux étudiants en sciences et techniques de l'activité physique et sportive, en kinésiologie et autres disciplines connexes. Cette troisième édition s'inscrit dans l'esprit d'amélioration des connaissances de la pratique en biomécanique. De nouveaux collaborateurs se sont joints à l'équipe de rédaction et huit nouveaux chapitres ont été ajoutés. Plus particulièrement, la course à pied est développée dans un chapitre qui lui est propre. Un chapitre sur le déséquilibre et la chute dans les sports de combat présente une application directe du chapitre sur l'équilibre postural. Dans le même esprit, le chapitre sur les acrobaties aériennes constitue une synthèse des connaissances sur les forces externes, l'impulsion. Les impacts sont abordés, entre autres, dans le chapitre sur la sécurité et la protection dans la pratique sportive. Deux chapitres concernant la capture du mouvement par des caméras et l'analyse biomécanique des ergomètres sportifs et isocinetiques viennent compléter celui sur l'instrumentation et le traitement des signaux. Toujours avec le souci de l'apprentissage des connaissances en biomécanique, la présente édition conserve les acquis des précédentes. Dans un premier temps, les chapitres présentent la théorie qui est ensuite illustrée par des exemples de calcul ou des applications pratiques. Enfin, de nombreux contrôles de connaissances permettent aux étudiants d'évaluer leur progression. (4ème de couverture)
